Nature & Wildlife Tours in Colorado

Immersive, expert-led birding and wildlife experiences

Why Choose Birding Man?

Birding Man Wildlife Tours offers small-group, science-informed nature and wildlife experiences throughout Denver and across Colorado’s most iconic landscapes — from the alpine tundra of Rocky Mountain National Park to the sweeping prairies of Pawnee National Grasslands. Founded by professional naturalist Dr. Ryan Dibala, our tours blend expert bird identification with a deeper understanding of ecology, behavior, and conservation.

Whether you’re an experienced birder or simply curious about Colorado’s wildlife, our outings are designed to be welcoming, educational, and immersive. We prioritize thoughtful pacing, personalized attention, and meaningful time in the field.

Conservation is central to everything we do. Each tour highlights the ecosystems we explore and the challenges they face, and a portion of proceeds supports conservation efforts locally and globally. When you join a tour, you’re not just observing wildlife — you’re connecting with it in a way that fosters stewardship and lasting appreciation.

Wildlife We Encounter in Colorado

Colorado’s diverse landscapes — from windswept alpine tundra to open prairie and dense montane forest — are home to some of North America’s most sought-after wildlife. Many guests join our tours to search for elusive high-elevation specialists like White-tailed Ptarmigan and Brown-capped Rosy-Finch, or to search pine forests for elusive raptors like Northern Pygmy and Boreal Owls. On the plains, Ferruginous Hawks and Golden Eagles patrol the skies, while Mountain Plovers and Longspurs blend beautifully into the grasslands. Pine Grosbeaks and Clark’s Nutcrackers animate the mountain forests and American Dippers forage along the rivers. Mammals are never far away — elk moving through a valley at first light, bighorn sheep navigating rocky slopes, or the quiet silhouette of a coyote or fox crossing open spaces.

These are not always easy species to find — but with careful planning, deep local knowledge, and patient fieldcraft, the chances of meaningful encounters increase dramatically.
